How iChillPod Was Made.

I bought a sauna for my home and run it around 200°F. It’s a dry sauna, and it gets fairly hot inside. After about five minutes of using my phone in there — watching videos and listening to podcasts — it would overheat and shut down.

To get around that, I went upstairs and grabbed an ice pack from the freezer. It helped for a bit, but the ice pack always slid around on the back of the phone and wasn’t comfortable to hold. That’s when the idea hit: I needed an ice pack with a phone recess so my phone could sit in it comfortably.

I searched online for something like that and couldn’t find an ice pack with a phone recess. So I decided to design one myself — and figured thousands, if not millions, of people run into the same problem.

After the major success of the product working in the sauna, I was heading on vacation and thought — why not bring it with me and throw it in the cooler at the beach. So I brought it, and when my phone overheated, I pulled it out of the cooler, cooled my phone down, and was able to use it very well.

That’s the story of how iChillPod was made.
